Honoring a Musical Legacy: Les was the lead member of one of the original boy bands from the 1970s. To honor his legacy, a white coffin was chosen to reflect his favorite performance suit. Adorned with wild floral designs, the coffin paid tribute to his Scottish roots. His family decided to keep his ashes at home, so a beautifully hand-turned natural wood urn was crafted for this purpose. In a unique touch, a bespoke Sure microphone was designed to sit atop the coffin. This striking piece not only personalized the coffin but was also created to house the urn, allowing the family to keep his ashes and memories in a spirited way.
A Vibrant Memorial Service: Large bamboo plants were placed in the chapel to bring freshness and life to the crematorium. The ceremony was enlivened by live tributes from fellow band members, who performed existing songs as well as new compositions to express grief and respect. Photographs showcasing Les’s colorful life, both personal and public, were displayed as guests reflected on his incredible journey.
