Qualified independent celebrant
As a retired music publicist communication has been absolutely key to my career. Not only in shaping an appropriate, engaging and meaningful narrative for the artists I’ve worked with but in communicating effectively with the numerous record labels and management teams I’ve encountered over the past 40 years. Finding the right words for the occasion has been essential in forging a successful career and it’s these skills that I bring to my work as a celebrant.
My initial introduction to the celebrant practice was 20 years ago when I wrote and conducted my Grandfather’s funeral. As such I know all too well how difficult this initial period is. Saying goodbye to loved ones has been something I’ve dealt with many times over the years and has given me enormous empathy with anyone going through this very upsetting and emotional time. Grieving is a individual process so it’s imperative you find a celebrant who understands your needs and can deliver the send-off you envisage.
I’ll be there to support you though out this journey. We’ll work together to create a truly representative portrait of your loved one in the way you wish. It’s my job to take your memories and put them into words to curate a ceremony that is personal, memorable and honours your loved one in the best way possible.
About me:
I am a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community – they are my chosen family and have supported me through many aspects of my life. Helping the community in celebrating their loved ones is one of the many ways I hope to give back.
When I’m not supporting my friends by purchasing tickets to their shows, wearing their designs or gracing their dance floors, I walk a Cockerpoo via voluntary dog service Borrowmydoggy along with my own 14 year old Pomeranian. I’m a keen theatre and cinema goer but equally enjoy being at home with my ginger cat Teddy and the toothless Pom Betsy.
