Eco-friendly LoopEarthRise mycelium urn being planted with a tree in ashes

Loop EarthRise™

Biodegradable Memorial Urn made of mushrooms

The Loop EarthRise™ Urn is a biodegradable memorial urn grown from mycelium — the root structure of mushrooms.

As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing the environmental impact of funeral care, we seek materials that align with ecological responsibility while remaining practical and dignified in use. Mycelium offers a natural alternative to synthetic or resource-intensive materials traditionally used in memorial vessels.

Grown in just seven days from local mushrooms and up-cycled hemp fibres, designed to nourish the earth and grow a tree in your memory.

Use it as a natural ornament at home or plant it in a garden or graveyard. Choose a lid with a cavity for a plant or a closed design. Designed specifically for burial, the urn will break down naturally in soil conditions without leaving harmful residue. It supports a full return to the earth and may be suitable for natural burial grounds and woodland settings.

We recognise that sustainability in funeral practice is complex. No option is entirely without impact. Our role is to provide clear information so that families can make informed decisions aligned with their values.

The Loop EarthRise™ may be appropriate for:

  • Natural burial grounds
  • Woodland burial
  • Private land burial (subject to local regulations)

Material: Mycelium (mushroom root structure)
Use: Burial
Environmental consideration: Fully biodegradable in soil conditions

If you are considering this option, we can advise on suitability and practical considerations.
